Thanks to your valuable feedback, we’ve completely redesigned the heart of the app — the Tomplay score player — with a simpler interface, new practice modes, improved annotation tools, and flexible options to make learning and playing your instrument even more enjoyable.

A redesigned interface

We’ve rearranged the buttons and actions to make the interface more intuitive, and added new features to help you learn and play more easily.

3 practice modes now available!

Play-along Mode: The score scrolls automatically at your selected tempo and plays with the accompaniment, allowing smooth, uninterrupted practice or performance — the classic Tomplay experience you already know and love.

Wait Mode (new): The cursor moves forward only when you play the correct notes, giving you real-time feedback. Ideal for learning new pieces before you can play them fluently, this mode is available for most scores for saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, violin, viola, cello, recorder, oboe, trombone, and more.

Smart Page-Turn Mode (new): The app listens to your playing and turns the pages automatically, so you never have to do it yourself. Ideal once you can play fluently. Currently available for piano scores, with more instruments coming soon.

Enhanced Annotation Tools:

Mark up your scores with greater precision and flexibility. Enjoy easier placement with the new magnifier for pinpoint accuracy, adjustable symbol sizes and colours, and the ability to save your favourite annotations for quick access.

New Visual and Audio Options

We’ve added new visual and audio options based on your feedback:

• Restart your score with a single tap
• Adjust the count-off volume
• Enjoy automatic Bluetooth latency correction
• Switch difficulty levels easily — access easier or harder versions of the same piece directly from your score
• Enable dark mode for comfortable practice in any lighting

The new interface is in beta, and we’re eager to hear your feedback! You can still access the previous player for a limited time, but we recommend exploring the improved new experience — and if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact us here.
