Tomplay offers different practice modes to choose from:
The Play Along mode is the default mode, and available for all scores, all instruments and on all platforms. In this mode, the score scrolls automatically at a fixed tempo, allowing uninterrupted Play-along for fluent practice or performance.
In the Wait mode, the cursor only moves forward when you play the notes correctly. Get real-time feedback to improve accuracy. Only available without accompaniment. This mode is recommended when you are learning the notes of the piece and cannot yet play it fluently. It is available for all instruments except guitar, bass, drums, double bass, music theory, accordion, and bands & ensembles. This mode is accessible on the Tomplay IOS, Android, and PC/Mac apps, but not if you play the scores directly on the Tomplay website (webapp).
The Smart Page Turn mode is accessible for piano scores only. In this mode, the app listens to your playing and turns the pages automatically. Only available without accompaniment. We recommend using this mode when you can play the piece fluently.
Modes are accessible in the bottom-left corner of the toolbar, where the selected mode is displayed (Play Along, Wait Mode, Smart Page Turn).
If you see the Help section instead of the Practice Mode section in the bottom-left corner of the score, it means that only the default Play-Along mode is available for this score.
To know if the Wait Mode or the Smart Page Turn Mode are available in a score, check if the ‘Note Recognition’ feature is visible on the score preview page:
